This particular story struck a chord, from the latest Newsletter from AVS, illustrating the humility and gratitude of those we support.

Marie, recently returning from a visit to Uganda, has produced the latest Newsletter which again illustrates so clearly that all the efforts made by Marie and all of you cannot be more appreciated.

Marie’s words accompanying the image below: “Still wearing the second hand trainers that we gave him EIGHT years ago. Wandera came to tell me how good the shoes had been. He hadn’t come to ask for another pair of shoes for himself but for a pair for his daughter who was joining secondary school."

It is incidents like this that bring you so sharply back to the extreme poverty with which so many people really live here in rural Uganda.
