Uganda Executive Committee

The committee was established in December 2006 to monitor the on-going projects and to make recommendations for new developments. Their local knowledge is proving an invaluable asset. Increasingly they exercise a great responsibility in budgetary control and accountability. Their work is voluntary for the benefit of the local community.
 


 

 
Gudoi Paul - Chairman. Paul is a Headmaster at a local secondary school in Muyembe and joined the Executive Committee in 2016. Paul was born and raised in the district of Bulambuli and is married with four children. To read Paul's full biography click here.

 
Mukoya Agnes - Treasurer and Director of AVS Uganda. Agnes has spent many of her formative years with the Ugandan Red Cross and has great insight in to delivering programmes that cover a wide spectrum of those in greatest need.


 
Dr Muhammed Mulongo, Surgical Doctor and Bulambuli District Health Officer - General Member 


 
Masinde Juma - Construction and local builder. Juma is a general member and has provided project management for the work of AVS.

Christine Wapowow - General Member and retired teacher.

Nyote Sus
an - AVS Secretary, Headteacher and Lay Canon.


New appointments to our Executive Committee;


Norah Mukoota, former treasurer and a nurse by training. Nora rejoined our Executive Board after several years away to focus on her family.

Yahaya Wepukhulu, a serving police officer, at a rank of Superintendent.

Patrick Nambafu, a retired public servant and currently a serving member of the district service commission of Bulambuli District.


AVS (UG) has opened its doors to new members and the next AGM will be held in January 2020.



AVS Uganda Staff




Dan – Programme Officer, Women and Vulnerables. Dan started life with AVS in 2008 and took responsibility for our internet cafe and previous to joining AVS Dan held a role with the Red Cross. As Programme Manager Dan is responsbible for the running of our Women's Groups, Mama Bag contents sourcing and distribution and working with out vulnerable families and indviduals. Dan is married with a daughter and enjoys watching football. In his spare time Dan raises goats and pigs.


Jennifer – Staff member is responsible for running the cafeteria, hospitality, cleaning and helping prepare food and beverages for our customers and staff. Jennifer has worked for AVS for over two years, she is married with one child and in her spare time she is involved with one of the women’s groups choirs and loves netball and volleyball.


Timothy  - Volunteer / reception and general admin support. Timothy has been a volunteer for for several years whilst he completed his studies in Industrial Design with a desire to go on and teach others. He enjoys enjoys playing the piano in church and doing fine art.


Paul  - Programme Officer, Education and Youth. Paul has been involved with AVS since 2001 first as a sponsored student, through his BA in Library and Information technology. Since graduating Paul has taken on all task associated with our Education Programme which includes reporting, selecting new students requiring sponsorship, parenting, sports and youth programmes. Paul is passionate about education and the use of IT in helping to educate.
